British Science Week
Back to Latest News
British Science Week is a ten-day celebration of thousands of events running throughout the whole of the UK with the aim of celebrating science, engineering, technology and maths. At Great Baddow High School we always get excited about this week and this year we have planned activities specifically to acknowledge the importance of STEM subjects.
On Tuesday, Year 7 & 8 students can register to get involved in an after school activity with Mr van Os to transform copper into gold, or hold fire in the palm of their hand…. limited spaces are available!
Running throughout the week will be our inter-house competition on this year’s science week theme of ‘CONNECTIONS’
Students have been tasked to be creative and build or make or design something that relates to the theme of ‘CONNECTIONS‘. For example students could show how an eco-system is connected to the environment, or how parts of a car are connected or how we are connected with the world….. the options are endless. If any student is struggling to think of a design or a model – please let them know that they can talk to their science teacher for advice and an idea to work towards.
The science week challenge will run for a week after the 19th to allow all students a chance to have something entered and we look forward to seeing how creative our students can be.
