"Welcome to GBHS, I would like to take this opportunity introduce myself; my name is Mr Bowers and I am the main contact for the transition of your child into Year 7 and I am likely be one of the first faces your child meets when they start their induction journey.
Speaking as an ex-pupil of Great Baddow High School, I am acutely aware of the range of feelings that your child may have as think about moving up to secondary school and of how they might feel when they enter through our school gates for the first time. I want to reassure you and them that I and my team at GBHS will do our best to allay any worries and fill them with confidence and excitement for the future.
We are wholeheartedly focused on ensuring that your child feels supported as they start their secondary journey and when they are with us both in lessons and around the school. My team and I will do everything we can to promote a positive approach to school, learning and contributing to our community. towards how students approach school.
I look forward to meeting your child and yourselves and starting to work together to ensure that your child’s transition is my focus is on smooth, positive, and enjoyable."

Summer Reading Challenges
Reading is very important at GBHS and we want to encourage all of our students to continue reading over the summer holidays. So we have devised our Summer Reading Challenges to encourage reading and as a great way to earn house points in September.
